No, this is not inside information, it is my opinion (as usual). Mike Alden is a smart career man. He will proactively move to protect his career and family by hunting down a new job immediately. If that process hasn't already happened, I would be shocked. With his position as university cheerleader/salesman, he cannot effectively perform when the BOC is trying to fire him and a large part of the fan base is calling for his head.

The furor has subsided mostly because people are losing their appetite for controversy, particularly after the announcement of Mike Anderson. That just means that Mike will go quietly into the night, not off the end of a plank.
