Another Choke Job

Dan McCarney is getting good at this choke business. For the second year in a row, he snatched defeat from the jaws of victory and hapless Colorado once again backs into a Big XII North title, which is frustrating considering that few Colorado fans will bother showing up for either the Big XII championship game or their bowl game. CU brought a whopping 700 fans to their bowl last year and most of them were heavily armed with projectiles. Is there a bigger waste than Colorado athletics? I was actually pulling for ISU, which is probably why they lost.

Keep Pinkel

There's no question that Gary Pinkel's time at Mizzou has at time raised such questions as "what was he thinking?!". There's also no question that Gary has had success and despite the brain freezes one week, he'll go out and beat Nebraska and Iowa State the next.

Coaches are always under a microscope. Memories are short and success is quickly erased by the bounce of a ball or gust of wind. Mizzou has been on a coaching merry-go-round for over 30 years. Nixon was running the country the last time Mizzou had a steadfast vision for its football program.

Coach Pinkel needs the time to build his program and he has had some genuine success. It's interesting that despite taking Mizzou bowling, some are howling about the bowl not being good enough. I remember when 6-5 was a pipe dream for some 15 years. Mizzou hasn't exactly been a football mecca, yet Pinkel has managed to land some extremely talented players and as you know, good players make coaches look real smart. So I guess what I'm saying is ease up and shut your pie hole.

TigerBoard Mod Gets Uniform

The infamous Tigger Lover of TigerBoard.com fulfilled a lifelong dream today by earning himself a moderator uniform. "I'm speechless," said Tigger Lover, seen here with a couple of random posters who were later beaten to a pulp by the over-stimulated moderator drunk on power.

UPDATE: Just as soon as he gets his uniform, TL was asked to turn in his badge and plastic gun. Dang.

Farewell Chronic Fatigue University

Kansas State football coach Bill Snyder has retired. His epic battles against archrival CFU were...epic. He will be missed.

Scrub a Dub Dub

Quin wasted no time whatsoever this season losing to a scrub team. He usually waits until it's a little colder, but why not get it over with the first game? So here is a coach who was hired site unseen, no track record, no experience whatsoever, who has wreaked utter havok within the Missouri basketball program making it a national laughing stock and tonight reached a new low (was that possible?) by losing to Sam Who-ston State in front of a sparse crowd--Mizzou's home opener. Quin Snyder has managed to sink Mizzou's basketball program lower than the likes of Colorado's. Yet the man continues to remain gainfully employed at the University of Missouri. Yay Quin.
