It's obvious that all Roy had to do was ditch the stifling confines of Another Field House to get his national championship. That said, I loved Roy's meltdowns in past years. This year we get healthy doses of his 'gee shucks' routine he pulls out before he smokes it, only he didn't smoke it. I hate his gee shucks routine. It's condescending and exposed anytime something doesn't go right for him. Then he shows what a butthead he is.
Watching Sean May bulldoze guys makes me wonder why no one at KU ever played like that. KU players have a well-deserved reputation for being wusses. May looked like a professional wrestler. Too bad all Illinois had was James Augustine, who thought the best way to slow down May was to take wimpy swipes at him as he lunged past him. Cry all you want about the five touch fouls, but Augustine should have realized that he was going to have to move his feet or sit on the bench.
