Impatience...Again

After listening to part of the first half and having left the game with Mizzou up, I expected the usual second half let down. I wasn't let down. I picked the game up again with about 8 minutes to go and we trailed by 10 or so. Per the script, the usual game plan of throwing up three after three after three when down a few possessions was in full effect. If Quin were a football coach, he would go for two after every touchdown. If he were a baseball coach, he would suicide squeeze every time he had a runner on third. It's what you do when you have no patience. You take shortcuts. You recruit Ricky Clemons and certain other shady characters. You play fast and loose with the rules. You try to make up 10 point deficits in 3 plays. And it's a shame, Quin has a nice set of players. He's purged the creeps and has the talent to run with just about any team, but if their game plan is to toss up three pointers for 12 minute stretches of the second half, then they've lost before the game ever started.
